Which report answers which question

Forty reports, grouped by the question somebody actually asked.

How did we trade? — daily revenue, the revenue journal, KPI trend (occupancy, ADR, RevPAR), segment, business sources, rate plan performance, account production.

Who is here, coming and going? — arrivals, departures, in-house, stayover, unguaranteed arrivals, room status, wake-up calls.

Where is the money? — outstanding balances, high balance, guest ledger, advance ledger, city ledger ageing, tenders, the cashier report.

What did we give away? — voids, cancellations, rate overrides, discounts, complimentaries, write-offs.

Tax and the law — the tax report, GSTR-1, the foreigner register, nationality.

The restaurant — outlet day, item sales, KOT audit, room postings from the POS.

Housekeeping — the board, discrepancies, out-of-order rooms.

The directory — guests, companies, travel agents.
