What an auditor will ask for
The six reports that get asked for every time, and what each proves.
- The revenue journal — every day's revenue by head, which is what the books are built from.
- Voids — every reversed posting with its reason and who made it. An auditor reads this before anything else, because it is where a fraud would have to show.
- Rate overrides and discounts — every price that was not the published one, with the reason.
- Cancellations and no-shows, with reasons.
- The tenders report — the day's collections by method, which is what a bank statement is matched against.
- The guest ledger and the city ledger ageing — what is owed, by whom, for how long.
All of them are exportable. All of them name the user who did each thing. Nothing in this system is edited quietly after the fact — corrections are reversals with reasons, which is exactly what makes these reports worth reading.
