Late check-out charge due — post it or waive it, then check out
"Late check-out charge due: left at 14:30, 3½ hours after check-out time 11:00 (50 per cent of 4,200). Post the charge to the folio, or have a manager waive it, then check out."
The sentence: *Late check-out charge due: left at 14:30, 3½ hours after check-out time 11:00 (50 per cent of 4,200) — Post the charge to the folio, or have a manager waive it, then check out.*
Why: the guest is past the hotel's check-out time and the hotel's policy says what that costs. Check-out refuses while the charge is neither posted nor waived, so it cannot be forgotten on a busy morning.
Do this: on the card's late check-out line press Post charge, take the money, then Check out. Or a manager presses Waive with a reason. A guest who leaves the day *after* their departure date owes the night, not a late check-out — the line says *after the departure date* and the charge is the full-day rate.
The early side reads the same way at check-in: *arrived at 09:30 against check-in time 14:00 (50 per cent of 8,000)*, posted when you press Check in.
