The month after opening
Four things to read on a schedule, and the one that changes on its own.
- The Onboarding board, monthly. Every hotel in the group and what each is still missing. Read it for the one check that changes without anybody touching it: how far ahead the rates reach. Extend them well before the warning becomes a booking that will not price.
- The Onboarding board, weekly, during an opening. If several properties are being set up at once, it is the list of what is outstanding across all of them, and everything on it links to the screen that fixes it.
- City ledger ageing, monthly. Money billed to companies and not yet collected, at 30, 60 and 90 days. It is the one place a hotel's money sits outside the folio, and the one most often forgotten.
- Your own house notes. A manager can add the hotel's own pages to this manual — late checkout, the way you do things — and they sit beside ours on the screens you choose.
