Bookings that have no room yet
Every live booking with no room number, from any source, is drawn on the chart and listed beside it — and dragged onto a room.
A booking can be taken on a room type alone — by the desk, by the group reservations screen, by the website, or by an OTA when the hotel was full for that type. Until it is given a room number it is not a bar on the chart, and a booking nobody can see is a booking the desk sells again. This happened at Connaught Place on 14 September, and the chart now refuses to let it happen quietly.

Do this
- The card sits in an amber lane under its room type, across the nights of the stay. Rest on it for the details; click it for the booking.
- Drag it onto a room row. The row lights green if the room can take the whole stay, red if not.
- The panel on the right lists the bookings the chart cannot draw — stays arriving after the last column.
Where they appear
- A card in the room type's lane. Under each room type's availability row sits an amber lane, present only when that type has a roomless booking in the window. The card runs across the nights of the stay, white with a dashed edge and the source colour on its left. From two nights it says the state — TODAY, OVERDUE or HOLD — the seller and the nights; from three it says which room of that type could take the whole stay ("105 is free — drop it there") or that none can.
- The panel to the right of the chart, headed **No room yet · beyond this view**, lists the ones the chart cannot draw: stays arriving after the last column. It is hidden when there is nobody to list.
Giving it a room
Drag the card onto a room row. The row lights green or red exactly as it does when you drag a bar, and the strip says *Give room 105*. Drop it, and the Move dialog opens titled Give a room with that room already chosen.

- The rooms, each with its verdict — *Available*, who is in it and until when, blocked, out of order. Pick one.
- Reason — recorded against your name.
- Give room.
Dropping on a room of another type is an upgrade or a downgrade, and the strip says which — *Upgrade to 207 — Deluxe instead of Superior*. The dialog groups the rooms under *upgrade* and *downgrade* and offers the re-price box; leave it unticked to give the room at the price the guest was quoted.
Right-click the card for *Give a room* without dragging; click it for the ordinary booking card; rest on it two seconds for the peek.
A card that says OVERDUE
The guest was due and has no room. Give one now — a walk-in cannot be checked in to a room type — or, if the guest never came, mark the no-show from the booking so the room type goes back on sale and the channel is told.
What it does not do
It does not choose a room for you. A channel booking that arrived while its type was full is placed automatically the moment a room frees; every other roomless booking waits for a person, because which room a guest gets is a decision the desk makes on purpose.
