Adding a hotel to the group

Setup → Add a hotel. One form builds a complete, sellable property.

Setup → Add a hotel. One form, and the hotel is built complete in a single step: rooms numbered by floor, rate plans, a price for every date a year ahead, restrictions, a cancellation policy, and the numbering it needs to issue a booking reference.

Do this

Hotel name — as it prints on invoices.
Short code — prefixes every booking reference and cannot be changed later.
State — decides place of supply, and therefore CGST+SGST against IGST.
GSTIN — its first two digits must match the state.
Check-in after / check-out before — printed on the confirmation, the registration card and the bill.

Have ready before you start:

The hotel code — short, and seven characters or fewer. It is the prefix on every booking, folio, invoice and credit note number, and GST caps a document number at sixteen characters.
Room types, how many rooms of each, and which floors they sit on.
A nightly tariff for each room type. Without one the hotel is created and cannot be sold, because there is no price to quote.
The GSTIN for that property. Each state is its own registration.
The address and PIN — they print on the invoice and the registration card.

A new hotel is created staged. It takes no bookings until you open it, so you can set rates and staff first.
