Punching an order
Table or takeaway, then items. Nothing reaches the kitchen until it is fired.
Choose a table, or start a takeaway, and punch the items.
- The menu is grouped by category and each dish may have sizes — half and full, small and large — each with its own price. Pick the size; the price follows.
- Quantity and a note per line. The note is what reaches the kitchen: "no onion", "very spicy", "for the child".
- The order stays open and editable while nothing has been fired. Once a line is fired it has been cooked, and removing it is a void with a reason, not a delete.
- Punching does not send anything to the kitchen. Fire KOT does. This catches every new cashier once.
A table with an open order is marked as such, so the next person to walk past knows before they seat anybody.
