Departments of your own

Spa, security, laundry, the gym: a job the standard list does not have. Say once what it may do, then give it to everyone who works there.

The standard jobs cover the front office, housekeeping, the kitchen, accounts and the rest. A hotel has more departments than that. Rather than giving each spa therapist the same ten changes one by one, make Spa a job once.

Team & access → Departments → Add a department, or + Add a department on the first step of the Add a person wizard.

Add a department: a name, who it is for, and the standard job it starts from.

Do this

  1. Department name — what people will see: *Spa*, *Security*, *Laundry*.
  2. Who it is for — one sentence. It is shown on the card when somebody is given this job.
  3. Starts from — the standard job it is closest to. It is treated as that job for rank and for which screens it is shown.
  4. Next — then switch on exactly what it may do, and check & save as you would for a person.
