Today: the first screen after you sign in
Whether yesterday is closed, who is arriving, leaving and in house, what is flagged and not done, and what was booked today.
Today is where the desk lands after signing in, and the first line of Menu → Front office. It reads the hotel afresh every minute; Refresh reads it now.
What is on it, top to bottom
- The day. *Yesterday is closed · by …* says who closed it. *The day is over — not closed yet* means the night audit has not run for a day that has ended; Close the day takes you to it. See Closing the day.
- Arrivals, Departures, In house — the three counts for the business date. Press one to open its list below.
- Flagged and not done — what is late: a room still dirty for an arrival, a request nobody closed. The housekeeping backlog is one line, not fifty.
- Before the day is closed — what the night audit will find in its way, with a link to it. And a line on yesterday.
- Booked today — see below.
- The lists — Arrivals, Departures and Activity, as tabs. A name opens the booking card.
Booked today
Bookings made today by the hotel's clock, whatever night they are for — a booking taken this morning for December counts today. It gives the rooms, room-nights and value, how many of today's bookings are already cancelled or no-show, then the same bookings cut five ways: Where they came from (each OTA on its own line), When they arrive, Room type, Rate plan and Who sold them. Pick another date to see that day's. The list underneath opens each booking.
Everybody who may read the operational reports sees Today. A login with no hotel screens — the restaurant, the reservation office — lands on its own screen instead.
