Tonight is charged at check-out time

Once the hotel's check-out time passes, every guest staying on is charged for tonight. The audit does not charge it again.

Since September 2026 a night is charged when the hotel's check-out time passes — 12:00 at most hotels, 11:00 at some — not at the night audit. From that moment the guest has chosen to stay, and the bill says so.

• Every guest in house and leaving on a later date gets tonight's room and tax on their bill, within five minutes of check-out time.
• The night audit finds the night already posted and does not charge it again.
• A night already on the bill cannot be re-priced from the card; correct it on the bill.
• A guest who is charged and then leaves the same afternoon keeps the charge; a manager can take it off in the settle window at check-out.

A night posted after its day was closed — an added night, a stay extended backwards — is dated today and reads, for example, *Room charge 25 Sep 2026 (posted late)*. The night it is for is in the words; the date is when it reached the bill, because a closed day's figures do not change.
