Tables and kitchen stations

Tables are where an order sits. Stations are where a KOT prints.

Two short lists that decide how service runs.

Tables — a number or name, a section, and how many it seats. An order belongs to a table, a table shows as occupied while an order is open on it, and settling frees it. Takeaway and delivery do not need one.

Kitchen stations — the places a ticket can print: the main kitchen, the tandoor, the bar, the dessert counter. Every dish names the station that cooks it, so Fire KOT splits a single order into the tickets each station needs, rather than printing the whole order everywhere and hoping.

Get the stations right before the menu, because every dish needs one, and rebuilding the menu to fix them is an evening nobody enjoys.
